What is the role of a Digital Project Manager?

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the launch of a range of digital projects:

  • corporate websites;
  • mobile apps;
  • e-commerce platforms;
  • software projects;
  • and many more!

You will be in charge of ensuring the project runs smoothly. This means making sure it is completed on time, within the planned budget, and the quality of the delivered project is guaranteed. You need to keep both your team members and a client happy along the way!

To do this, you will have to coordinate teams made up of:

  • developers;
  • designers;
  • online marketing specialists.

These stakeholders will count on you to choose the project management style which best meets the challenges they are facing. It could be an agile or a more traditional workflow.

It will also be your job to regularly meet and report back to the client on behalf of the team. They will either be an in-house client, such as another team, or an external client if you are working in an agency.

What will I learn?

By the end of this path, you'll be able to :

  • Analyze a client’s needs
  • Document a digital project for its delivery and continual improvement
  • List action points to remove, minimize or eliminate risks
  • Mobilize technical, design and marketing skills to lead a digital project
  • Streamline the division of tasks among team members
  • Plan for test and quality assurance processes
  • Ensure quantitative and qualitative project reporting
  • As well as many other skills you will master!

What are my job prospects?

After graduating from this path, many job titles will match the skills you've mastered, including Web project manager, IT project manager or digital strategist.

Digital project managers earn the following salaries:

  • United States
    • Beginner: $40,000 - $60,000
    • More experienced: $60,000 - $100,000+
  • United Kingdom
    • Beginner: £30,000 - £45,000
    • More experienced: £45,000 - £90,000

These profiles are highly sought after, particularly in permanent contracts, whether in agencies, IT consultancy companies or directly in companies with internal digital tools.

Am I eligible to enroll?

To be eligible to earn this path’s diploma, candidates must demonstrate proof of one of the following prerequisites:

  • A level 5 professional certification, associate’s degree, or equivalent in project management, IT, web development, design, marketing, or communication.
  • Or a level 4 professional certification, high school/secondary school degree, vocational certificate, or equivalent and at least 2 years of professional experience in project management, IT, web development, design, marketing, or communication.

All other candidates will need to go through a specific admissions process, including a placement test. These candidates must have:

  • A level 5 professional certification, associate’s degree, or equivalent in any subject with at least 1 year of professional experience in any field.
  • Or a level 4 professional certification, high school/secondary school degree, vocational certificate, or equivalent in any subject with at least 3 years of professional experience in any field.

Additionally, these other candidates must submit a portfolio consisting of the following supporting documents:

  • Certification for having passed the OpenClassrooms courses ‘Manage a digital project with a waterfall methodology’, ‘Learn about agile project management’, and ‘Work effectively in a team’.
  • A personal project that the candidate has planned or managed, such as training and job search project, real estate purchase project, or other project related to their current job, accompanied by a 10-minute recorded video explaining the project.

For all candidates, the selection procedure is carried out through an application form validating the academic pre-requisites or exemptions, as well as the adequacy of the professional project with the objectives of the training. This form will be used to collect the supporting documents that make up the admission file. If necessary, an individual motivation interview is organized.

For applicants whose native language is not French, proof of a minimum level of French B2 (fluent level) on the European scale of the CEFR will also be required.

Candidates will also need access to a computer (PC or Mac), headphones, a webcam, and a stable internet connection
