    24 décembre 2014 à 12:05:15

    Hi,

I was wondering if any one of you know if there is a website or a pdf that recapitulate all gramatical rules of the english language. If possibly in a synthetic way, with exercices.

I can wrote some simply english sentenses, but people always told me that i make some mistakes.

    Thanks by advance.

          Hey

I can see you're french, so I would recommend this french website to you : http://www.anglaisfacile.com

It provides free courses and exercises for every level : beginners to advanced users :)

By the way, thanks for the link ColTrek, I also lack of knowledge when it comes to conjugations and even vocabulary :/

            Hi;

One of the easiest way to improve one's english, especially for vocabulary, is listening or reading the news.

You'll get some reflexes and add more and more vocabulary to your current one.

Anyway, I can give you these two websites http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish   http://www.voanews.com/learningenglish

            Bye!

I don'tkKnow if this could help you, but I know a wonderfull website if you are searching for vocabulary.

                http://www.linguee.fr/

with this website, you just choose the linguages you want, and then search the vocabulary.

It gives you the translation in many différents contexts.

                Have a nice year,

                cheerfully,

In my own opinion, the best way to improve your english is to :

                  - Take classes. (The very first and most important step)

                  - Watch series in VOSTFR, I recommend Community, The Big Bang Theory, South Park and other comedies. (Easier to understand)

                  - Start reading mangas or comics in english. (In my case that's what made me progress the most)

                  - If you play video games, ask people if they want to join you on Teamspeak. (It's really weird, even if you've a "high-level" of understanding in english, to talk with people and to listen to them is really tough)

                  - Watch series in VO like The Wire, Oz, The Sopranos which are the best series ever made and allow you to speak like a real thugh, read books in english and good job, you have your TOEIC.  :magicien:

I wouldn't advice VOSTFR, French subtitles won't help at all, instead, they would be a distraction, prefer English sub, (if needed). I also wouldn't go for TBBT, or South Park, are they are far from the usual English (however, if you are to watch TBBT, just like doctor who, don't bother with the French version, the original is so much better). Good point though, the Indian accent of Raj.

I agree with the manga or comics, you can extend it to ll kind of books :)

Also, if you get a chance, try to watch BBC or CNN. Both channels have CC and they use proper, usual English.

Nope. Best point is the Indian accent of Howard imitating Raj. :D

TBBT or South Park are indeed quite difficult to understand: there are slang language, a lot of pun, etc. IMO, a better series to start with is "Avatar the last airbender". The voices are quite clear (although Sokka speaks a bit fast maybe), and the show is nice.

You can have a look to the harraps guide called "parler l'anglais en voyage" ;)

Really practical and well made in my opinion

I just find an Android application called Duolingo. It's really fun to learn english on it ! You guys should check it out !

Plus, if you already know how to speak in english. You can learn much more languages, like Italian, Dutch or Swedish.
