I'm building a school management system in Java, JavaFX and MySql. The project is almost finished but i am facing a real problem. In this kind of system, at the end of a year, successful students must go to the higher class, next year and those who fail must stay in the same class. I don't know how to manage this in my database so that at the end of a year, a kind of new database is created with the new data. As an example: For the year 2020 data for students, teachers, marks, classes, subjects, discipline are stored. At the end of this year, a kind of new database/session is created with all tables initialized and the students who passed must go to the higher class the next year.
