script matlab for an analytic equation

good morning, i'm a first year phd student and i'm having problems to write a matlab script it's my first time with matlab and it's been a month now and i still couldn't figure out how to write an analytic equation with it 

could you please help me 

so this is an example of equation 

Rj = Bj log_2⁡(1+SINRj) 

=Bj log_2⁡((∑_(k=1)^ni▒〖gkj.Pk+σj²〗)/(∑_(k≠j)^ni▒〖gkj.Pk+σj〗 ²))

where R is the sum rate, B is the bandwidth,g is the channel gain (matrix), P is the allocated power ( vector)and σj is the noise variance
