What is an Agile Coach?
As an Agile Coach, you help organizations, teams and individuals to build an Agile culture. This could be either as an external consultant or a company employee.
The goal of your mission is to:
- Help teams to understand and apply the principles of their chosen Agile approach and framework;
- Lead teams to learn how to communicate and collaborate more effectively;
- Help teams to overcome their professional difficulties;
- Improve the standard of work by prioritizing value;
- Provide advice about continuous improvement (kaizen) loops to transform into a high-performing organization.
You have a varied role:
Trainer: You teach and share the knowledge of agility that you have gained through continuous monitoring.
Mentor: Drawing on your own experience, you advise on solutions with the goal of solving specific problems and helping individuals to progress in their missions.
Coach: You help to create new processes and perspectives that lead to better results. You coach at individual (1:1), joint (team) and systematic (organization) levels.
Facilitator: You create spaces where exchanges can take place between people. You create workshops designed to address specific issues or hold regular meetings where you take the lead with the goal of strengthening team dynamics.
What qualities do you need?
- Active listening, to understand and verbalize the emotions of the people being coached
- Empathy and perspective, so you can to put yourself in the shoes of team members and understand their problems
- Teaching skills, so you can share knowledge, know-how and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility, so you can switch between different missions and topics
- Proactiveness, to drive your missions towards a solution
- An ability to continuously improve, since the Agile ecosystem is constantly evolving.
Once you have completed this training program, you will be able to:
- Design training programs and workshops on the Agile approach.
- Encourage continuous improvement through individual and group coaching.
- Audit the Agile maturity of an organization.
- Formalize an Agile support framework.
Prerequisites
Professional experience: a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Agile project management (Product Owner or Scrum Master).
Hardware: access to a computer (PC, Linux or Mac), equipped with a microphone, a webcam and a good Internet connection (3.2 Mbps for sending data and 1.8 Mbps for receiving data). To test the quality of your connection, click on this link.
Language: In order to successfully complete this training, it is recommended that your level of English is equivalent to C1-C2.
