Setting up and managing a backup system is the effective way to protect you or a business from data loss due to accident or equipment failure; provided that the system takes a holistic approach and doesn’t cut any corners!
In this course we’ll be exploring the core principles of a complete and effective backup solution, from assessing the factors that influence the design and creating the solution, to making and testing a backup.
To support our learning, we’ll be using Windows and Linux command line backup tools and seeing how we can script and schedule them. We’ll also look at the free version of EaseUS Todo Backup, a graphical application for Windows. To cap it all, we’ll even set up and use a free tier Amazon Web Services (AWS) account to perform a ‘backup to the cloud’!
The knowledge you’ll learn on this course will stand you in good stead regardless of the actual backup tools you use, so grab a blank, formatted USB stick (2GB minimum), click the start course button and see how to make sure that your backups are safe, valid, and there when you need them!
