Over to You!

In this course, you’re going to create a portfolio website using Bootstrap 5.

What’s a portfolio website?

It’s a website all about you—a sort of online CV for developers. It allows you to showcase the projects you’ve worked on, highlight your skills, and show who you are.

A portfolio website

The aim of this project is to create a website that will be useful to you, and you can maintain and update as you gain more experience.

For this course, you’re going to integrate a specific design as a basis for learning about Bootstrap 5 as you go through the chapters. To give you an idea of what’s in store, take a look at this example of a portfolio website and check out the GitHub repository for this course

Of course, once you’ve finished the course, you can make as many changes to your website as you want!

Meet Your Teachers

Max Mahmoud Wardeh

Hi! My name’s Max, and I love coding. I got my first computer at the age of 12. Ever since, I’ve been hooked on the idea that writing some lines into a text editor can transform a box made of silicon, metal, and plastic into anything a programmer can imagine.

I have a degree in telecommunications and computer engineering, and I’ve been developing for the web for more than 20 years.

When I’m not developing software, my other passion is teaching. In fact, my first job at the age of 16 was teaching young children to program and control robots! Now I divide my time between teaching, mainly at the Institute for Digital Technologies at the University of Loughborough in the UK, and consulting on software product development.

Benoît Philibert

HI! I’m Benoît, and I’ve been a UX/UI Designer for over 10 years. When I was 11, a revolutionary new object appeared in our house: a computer. It very quickly became my passion, and as my dad worked in printing at the time, I had access to the very first versions of Adobe Photoshop, which is how I started out in the IT design environment.

I’m now lucky enough to have made my passion into a job. I’m 100% self-taught, and after many online training courses, hundreds of hours of practice, and a good dose of willpower, I was able to launch my own small business at the age of 20 and take my first steps into working on the web.

Another of my interests is teaching. I’ve been sharing my web experience with students from the Lyon 1 University in France for five years. I've written a book on Bootstrap and created various training videos on web design. Nowadays, all of my projects are based on the power and flexibility of the Bootstrap framework.

Luca Bousquet

Hi! I’m Luca, and I’m passionate about the web and entrepreneurship. Like many of you, I changed careers a few years ago, which helped me find my path and learn and grow in my professional life.

After a fairly standard career in business, I decided to earn a Web Design and Development degree, which gave me an insight into the wealth of web-related jobs available.

After my degree, I started out as an entrepreneur while continuing self-directed learning in the different areas of web development and UI/UX design, with OpenClassrooms and other courses. I’m now co-founder of Snowball.gg, an online gaming coaching platform, and I also advise and support students and new companies with development and design.

Let’s go to the next chapter to start working with Bootstrap!
