Now that you've taken your first steps in Excel, it's time to put what you’ve learned into practice by completing the exercise below.

  1. Recreate the table below in Excel (or download it here).

2. Manipulate the data as follows:

Insert Data
  • Insert today's date in C2.

Select and Copy Data
  • Copy B6 down to B11.

  • Select cells C6 and C7, then copy them down to C11.

  • Select cells D6 and D7, then copy them down to D11.

Create and Copy Calculations
  • In E6, calculate the “Total (net)” i.e., (“Quantity” x “Price (net)”), then copy the cell down to E11.

  • In F6, calculate the “VAT” i.e., (“Total (net)” x “VAT rate”), then copy the cell down to F11.

  • In G6, calculate the “Total” i.e., (“Total (net)” + “VAT”), then copy the cell down to G11.

  • Save your workbook in your Documents folder and name it “Order management.”
