You can try to follow the courses provided by W3schools in HTML. I followed the one for JavaScript and to be honest : web programming has never been that easy. You wont be disapointed. And it's really for newbie/beginners.

(Sorry by advance if I do mistakes in my post, I'm french and don't have a really good level in english.)

There are many way for learning this language :

• OpenClassrooms has a great tutorial which contains a lot of knowledges that can help you a lot for using HTML and CSS ;
• CodeCademy has a "lite" tutorial (less complete than the OpenClassroom's one) but you have an access to a real-time editor, which permit to see the changes your code make in the page, without installing a code editor.

There's a lot of other sources, as @AminNairi said, there is also the W3School's tutorial, which is certified to be one of the greater one because you will learn with knowing all the standards are respected well. Make your choice in this ocean of courses but, any way you choose, you'll propably be able to learn HTML5 fastly, maybe in a few days
