bonjour a tous,
j'ai essayer d'installer kubuntu en suivant le tuto du site, mais j'ai un probleme a la toute dernière étape. Sur le screen du tuto, il est marqué que " grub serat installer sur hd0", et moi se n'est pas marqué. Et après l'installation, lors du démarage il me lance windows sans aucun choix, et meme dans les options de démarage avancé il n'y a que windows de proposé.
Je voudrais savoir si l'on peut installer grub a partir de windows ou si il y a une commande sous linux(en live CD) qui me le permette
c'est possible aussi que ja'ai oublier de faire quelque chose lors de l'installation
voila le screen de mes points de montage:

hda1 étant un disque de donnée
hdb6 mon noyau linux
hdb1 windows
hdb5 le swap linux
et hdb7 la partition d'échange linux-windows

et la deniere étpae de l'install

Est-ce que tu as bien téléchargé Kubuntu 6.10 ?

Par contre, de toute manière, je ne crois pas que tu doives t'inquiéter pour ça, il a beau ne pas avoir écrit où grub sera installé, un grub sera installé et tu pourras dual-booter sur windows ou bien sur linux

Le probleme c'est qu'après avoir installé linux, quand je redémarre je n'ai pas le choix entre windows et kubuntu, et je ne sais pas si c'estparce que grub n'est pas installé ou si c'esst un probleme de mon pc. et meme en appuyant sur F8 il n'est pas proposé dans la liste des OS
edit : grub est bien installé, car jai consulter la partition linux sous windows grace au logiciel cité dans le tuto, et il ya tout un dossier avec des grub dedans. donc je suppose que cela vient d'ailleurs, mais je ne sais pas comment lancer grub au démarrage.

est-ce que tu peux nous copier le fichier /boot/grub/menu.lst ?

Et sinon, je n'ai pas très bien compris, est-ce que tu bootes automatiquement sur Linux ou bien sur Windows ?

Non là Grub n'est pas installé dans le MBR.
Sinon déjà il se lancerait, et puis ce serait Ubuntu qui démarrerait.

Je te conseille de regarder sur http://ubuntu-fr.org comment installer Grub à partir du live CD

c'est pas franchement bien expliké sur ce site, quelqu'un auré t il une méthode pour installer grub a partir du live cd ou de windows s'il vous plait

Euh, attends voir, si j'ai bien compris, tu as deux DD, le premier avec Windows, qui boote en première place (dans le BIOS) automatiquement, et l'autre avec Ubuntu et le GRUB.

Tu peux toujours essayer de modifier l'ordre de boot dans le BIOS, en mettant en première place le deuxième DD (ou bien du moins celui sur lequel tu as installé Linux. Ca pourrait éventuellement être ça, et ça résoudrait le problème simplement.

Autrement, je ne sais malheureusement pas comment faire, la doc d'ubuntu sait certainement mieux que moi

non je voulais installer windows et kubuntu sur le meme DD, mais je crois que je vais mettre linux sur le deuxieme, ce serat moins prise de tete, juste l'ordre du boot a changer.

EDIT : mon probleme est résolu, je n'aurais meme pas a changé l'ordre du boot a chaque fois, vu que grub trouve mon windows sur le deuxieme DD.
