Make a Decision: Pass or Fail

Reexamine Your Analysis

Your decision will focus on two main aspects:

  1. Your analysis of the student’s deliverables: did they meet the assessment criteria?

  2. The assessment: did the student prove that they fully understood the work and acquired the necessary skills?

In short, use the assessment criteria as your guide when making the final decision on a student’s project.

Making the Best Decision

You have three options: pass, fail, or asking the student to resubmit certain deliverables.

✅Pass

All the deliverables are there and are complete. The student has acquired all the necessary skills. You can accept the student’s project and click on "Approved project".

🔂Conditional pass

One of the deliverables is still incomplete, but the student has acquired the majority of the skills. Ask the student to edit the deliverables, add them to their dashboard as a ZIP file, and email you when it is done (within 48 hours). Wait for the update before to click on one of the two possible results.

Fail and retaking the assessment

Several of the deliverables are incomplete. The student has not yet acquired the majority of the necessary skills. They will have to rework their deliverables and schedule another assessment for a later date. Click on "Project to rework".

How should I react if a student has still not acquired the necessary skills after a second assessment?

No matter the circumstances, you cannot accept the student’s project if they have not acquired the necessary skills. They may be struggling and need more support from our teams. If they have still not passed after several attempts, you can get in touch with their mentor and the OpenClassrooms team. They will try to find a solution.

Let’s Recap!

You have three options after analyzing the deliverables and asking the student questions during the assessment:

  • If the student has met the assessment criteria, then you can accept their project.

  • Ask the student to resubmit their deliverables within 48 hours if they need to make a few minor changes to meet the assessment criteria.

  • If the student has not met most of the assessment criteria, you cannot accept their project and must ask the student to rework it.
