Welcome to this course! Before we get into it, let’s take a moment to talk about the format of the course, and how to get the most out of it.
How to Use the Videos and Text
Each chapter starts with an introductory video providing a simple overview of the key concepts you’ll come across in the chapter. They give you a first insight into the subject and the most important concepts, and also help motivate you before you begin! 💪
Next, read the text under the video to find out how to put these concepts into practice.
Practice as you go along by following the examples I’ll show you throughout the course text.
The text will be accompanied by screencasts, which are videos where I demonstrate a concept by filming my screen. Try to copy what you see in the video—this is the best way to really grasp the concepts we’ll go over.
Repeat Certain Parts if You Need to
In this course, we’ll cover concepts that you’ve never heard of before. If you don’t understand and remember everything the first time, don’t worry—that’s normal! If you need to, you can always go back to a previous chapter and look over it again.
At certain points, you might feel like we’re going very fast, and at others, it might feel much slower. That’s normal, too! Go at your own pace—give yourself enough time to take everything in and complete the exercises. 🧠 Remember that the most important thing is that you’re able to put what you’ve learned into practice.

This course is based around an exercise that runs all the way through the course—chapter by chapter, we’re going to learn how to create a mock-up for the website of a noodle restaurant chain, Yummy Noodles.
Underneath each set of written instructions, the solution is provided in a screencast. These exercises will provide you with practical experience of the concepts we’ll cover in each chapter. The idea is to learn by doing, so as we go through the course, take the time to understand and try out what you learn, and see if you can do it by yourself! 😎
Test Your Knowledge
At the end of each chapter, you’ll find a quiz for you to try out your new knowledge. This is the perfect opportunity to check if you’ve fully understood the key concepts of each chapter, and which parts you need to go over again.
