In this chapter, I’m going to suggest some ideas that could help you in your daily working life:

  • Generate job adverts

  • Screen job applications

  • Build career plans

  • Provide an onboarding process

These are just a few of the possible use cases! I’m sure you’ll be inspired by further ideas.

Ask ChatGPT to Write Job Adverts

As soon as I learned about ChatGPT, I knew it would be really handy for generating job adverts. ChatGPT is perfectly capable of understanding specific details of a given post and writing an appealing, detailed job description to attract the very best candidates.

For example, if you need to create an advert for a “Social Media Manager” role, why not ask ChatGPT to give you a helping hand?

🧔🏻‍♂️: Could you please write a job advert for a ‘Social Media Manager’ for our company, TechStar, an expert in space technology? We’re looking for someone with strong content-writing skills, good knowledge of social media platforms, and experience with social media analytics tools, who is used to working as part of a team. ChatGPT can carry out an initial application assessment. It can be configured to analyze and assess résumés and cover letters based on the specific criteria mentioned in the job advert. This functionality can reduce the time spent reviewing hundreds of applications and identifying promising candidates.

Let’s assume you’ve received an application for the post of data scientist. You could ask ChatGPT to analyze the application for you, by copying and pasting the résumé and cover email you received.

🤖: Based on the information you’ve provided, Alex seems like a great candidate for the social media manager post. Her cover letter also shows that she is highly motivated and has a good understanding of TechStar’s mission.  I would recommend considering her for interview.

Use ChatGPT to Help Build a Career Plan

ChatGPT can build a personal career plan. It can assess an employee’s skills, interests, and career goals and suggest a personal career plan to help them achieve their objectives.

Let’s take the example of an employee who wants to move on from their junior developer role to become a project manager. ChatGPT can help by creating a clear path to achieve an objective.

Design an Onboarding/Offboarding Process Using ChatGPT

Are you working on an onboarding process? ChatGPT can provide key information, advice and resources to help new employees to settle into the company quickly and efficiently.

But what if you wanted to create an offboarding process? Well, ChatGPT can help with that too.
