In this chapter, we’re going to share Jane’s dashboard using Microsoft Power BI’s online service: Power BI Service.
Set Up Your Online Workspace
With Power BI Service workspaces, you can:
Create and manage your data reports as well as your dashboards.
Create data sets that you can reuse for different reports or dashboards.
But most importantly of all:
Collaborate with colleagues on designing your reports or dashboards, or managing your data (requires a Power BI Pro license).
But what’s the difference between a report and a dashboard?
In the next video, you’ll see how to:
Set up your online workspace.
Add your data and report.
We’ll take a look at that in the next video.
Share Your Report
In your workspace, you can:
Invite other members to collaborate with you in the creation of your data report.
Share your report with users by publishing it.
With this service, you can share your report with Jane before your next meeting. This will give her time to get familiar with the report, meaning you can get straight down to business.
You can also add users, via their email addresses, to the security roles that you created (the Portland branch manager, etc.).
You’re finally ready for your presentation meeting with Jane. You can read how it all wraps up here.
