Accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) confirms the quality, reliability, and positive impact of OpenClassrooms
It signals to students, employers, partners, and communities that our programs meet the highest standards and are recognized worldwide. To make education accessible, OpenClassrooms is expanding its degree-granting authority by awarding Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees.
Authorized countries and US states for degree programs
Currently, OpenClassrooms is registered, licensed, authorized, or has certified exemption in, and can only issue degrees in, the following US states: Colorado, Idaho, Hawaii, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, and in France. Students residing outside the U.S. are subject to national laws governing degree-issuance.
Additional US states will be added in the future, as our goal is to cover all US states and territories. Employer-funded programs, such as registered apprenticeships, are available nationwide.
OpenClassrooms’ registered apprenticeship degrees enable students to earn a market wage, gain hands-on job experience, and graduate with a degree completely debt-free. Employers benefit from highly skilled, job-ready talent.

Registered apprenticeship degrees
You’re eligible to apply for a registered apprenticeship degree if you live in one of the authorized states. Your degree will be issued by OpenClassrooms, an accredited institution. Credits and degrees are eligible for credit transfer.
- Graduates: If you have successfully completed your registered apprenticeship program in an authorized state, and your jury took place on or after January 2, 2025, you’ll earn a degree at no additional cost.
- Current and future students: If you are currently enrolled or will enroll in a registered apprenticeship program in an authorized state on or after January 2, 2025, you’ll earn a degree upon successful completion at no additional cost.

Non-registered apprenticeship degrees
OpenClassrooms also offers degree programs outside of apprenticeships. Depending on each profile, it is possible to earn a recognized degree by combining our programs with your academic and professional background as well as previously earned college credits.Employers and community partners

Institutional Accreditation refers to the quality of the institution as a whole. OpenClassrooms voluntarily participated in a multi-year review of the institution. This review culminated in a Site Visit led by a team of higher education professionals, most of which were members of WASC accredited institutions. While accreditation agencies provide a stamp of quality for institutions as a whole, states control degree-granting authority. OpenClassrooms degree programs must be reviewed by state agencies that establish this authority through statute and law.
